I’m pretty sure I didn’t mention on here that my girlfriend started grad school to get a masters in data science. Inspired, in part, by her I decided to also pursue more education in data science for myself.
I figure with my day job at a marketing agency managing high 5 figures worth of pay-per-click budget every day having a good understanding of data and how to analyze it would be beneficial from a career and client service standpoint.
I don’t have the money to go to grad school, so I decided to go with Coursera’s certification in data science. Maybe that’s super cheesy, maybe it’s lame, but it’s what will work for me now so I done did it.
I can always ramp up and gear up to go to grad school if I really click with this whole data science thing, but I’m going to see how far I can go on my own before I go back to school.
Anyway, I’ve learned some of the basics, learning about this programing language called R, and just getting the basics in. This is only the first class, so there’s a long way yet to go.
Why am I telling you this?
Well, because I will probably be falling off on the blogging thing here so I can concentrate on the data science thing.
Yeah, I know, how much time do I really spend blogging etc. but I just wanted to mention that I may fall off in my frequency, but I think that I may end up being more specific about what I blog about, how do you like them apples?
