I Got Called A “Nigger” Yesterday

I’d never been called a “nigger” before, so I didn’t quite know how to react. Actually, I’ve been called that before, by my black friends, when we were joking around about stuff. But all those other times, the word was preceded by the word “my” which would make it more a term of endearment than a slur.

Anyway, I was in the middle of providing some free tech support to this person when they blurted that out. What did I say to merit this insult? Not that you can ever earn being called that word, but I had to have provoked him, right?

I told him that he needed to renew his domain name every year, with his registrar. He wanted to know if there was some way around that, I said that he could renew for multiple years at a time, but if he wanted to keep the domain, he needed to pay a yearly fee to the registrar and that there was no way around that requirement.

That’s when the uneducated, unsophisticated, cowardly buffoon of a man child had his verbal diarrhea. He blurted out “you’re just a nigger!”

I’m glad I wasn’t across the table from him, because I think I would’ve punched him. Luckily, he disconnected before I could say anything back to him. Actually, he disconnected as soon as he finished uttering the word. Not that I would’ve had anything to say right there on the spot, but I think it was really cowardly of him to call me that, and then immediately disconnect.

I guess he was afraid that I was about to unleash a verbal assault the likes of which he’d never recover from. Or something like that. It’s hard to tell what cowards are going to do next.

Anyway, I’m not really upset by it, I’m more surprised that there are still so many people like that in the world. I guess people like that, are the kinds of people that support Rick Santorum.

I’m not angry at people like that, but I do feel sorry for them.
