Unfortunately, the majority of the people that Schirmer targets in the US will not see this wonderful press release from the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) banning David Schirmer for life from providing any financial advice.

The last time we heard of him, Schirmer was claiming to be a Christian financial expert that wants to help churches manage their financial resources better. Schirmer wants to help his fellow Christians manage their finances better as well.

Just as long as they’re not in Australia.

Schirmer is one of the scammers featured in mockumentary “The Secret” and was touted in the book and sales video (which they called a “movie”) as a financial expert of some kind. It turns out he was only an expert in his own mind.

Let me rephrase that, he was only an expert at fraud and deception and not a financial wizard as the mockumentary and book claimed that he was.

The Australian equivalent of the Securities and Exchange Commission has seen it fit to ban Schirmer for life from providing financial advice. I’ll go ahead and trust the financial expertise and wisdom of the Australian Securities and Investment Commission and their decision.

Former contributor to the popular self-help product The Secret, Mr David Gary Schirmer of Warrandyte, Victoria, has been permanently banned from providing financial services following an ASIC investigation.

ASIC found Mr Schirmer had failed to comply with financial services laws in relation to the promotion, operation and delivery of a trading and wealth creation program known as the ‘Platinum Super Traders’ (Platinum program). The Platinum program was operated by
Mr Schirmer and Platinum Super Traders Pty Ltd.

ASIC found that between August 2004 and December 2006 Mr Schirmer:
provided financial services on behalf of another person who carried on a financial services business while not being authorised to do so
engaged in conduct in relation to a financial product or financial service that was misleading or deceptive, or was likely to mislead or deceive
failed to act in accordance with representations made by him to participants in the 2005 and 2006 Platinum programs
made false statements to participants in the 2005 and 2006 Platinum programs, and
engaged in dishonest conduct.

ASIC found that rather than disclosing difficulties he was facing with aspects of the Platinum program, Mr Schirmer chose to deceive Platinum participants and deliberately prepared and provided them with a false document.

ASIC’s action against Mr Schirmer reinforces its commitment to protecting retail investors and financial consumers by removing individuals who don’t possess the honesty and integrity necessary to discharge their duties and obligations as financial services providers.

Mr Schirmer has the right to lodge an application for review of ASIC’s decision with the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

Featured in “The Secret” book/ infomercial are a bunch of people like James Arthur Ray, David Schirmer, Joe Vitale, Bill Harris and others.

• Yesterday, February 3rd James Arthur Ray, aka Death Ray, was arrested for killing 3 people at a sweat lodge in Arizona. Death Ray was charged with Manslaughter, which is unintentional homicide.
• David Schirmer appears to be a fraud addict. He has been featured on many different news channels for his tendency to take people’s money and not delivering on his promises. David Schirmer is also notorious for being a stock broker/ advisor that can’t seem to pick any winning stocks.
• Bill Harris sells something called “HoloSync” or maybe hollow stink??, that was required reading during the Death Ray seminars. Apparently, these $300 CDs that he sells are done much better by other people and they only charge $49. Harris also acts like a big d-bag.
• Joe Vitale, sells you among other things, photocopies of pictures of Russian dolls and wants to convince you that the photocopies have some kind of mystical power, just like the real dolls do. It’s the Law of Attraction at work.

Given that Death Ray was in “The Secret” and all of the shenanigans that have ensued from a lot of the people featured in that infomercial, I feel it’s appropriate to post this nice video created by some folks from Australia.

There are some serious scammers out there, which fortunately only want your money, but there is at least 1 guy who will take your life too.

Enter James Arthur Ray.

This is a guy with no medical, coaching or counseling credentials whatsoever who thanks to the media became a “darling” and made millions of dollars “life coaching” people to death. This guy is a snake oil salesman, pretending to be a guru, life healer, shaman type of person.

Death Ray, as we call him, is responsible for 4 deaths in 90 days over the summer of 2009. You read that right, 4 deaths.

Google “James Arthur Ray sweat lodge deaths” and you’ll get a “heapin helpin” of what I’m talking about.

Anyway, you don’t just become Death Ray overnight, so here’s a clip from my good friend Salty Droid that shows how the media failed in their duty to uncover the truth:

I don’t know about you, but I can literally see the Death Ray’s head getting bigger as the clips progress. It seems like those “journalists” did nothing but inflate Death Ray’s ego.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, “The Secret” is a load of bull malarky. At least 10% of the “gurus” or “stars” or whatever it is that they call themselves in that pathetic piece of garbage have serious ethical issues hanging over them.

1 bad apple ruins the bunch

You know what they say about 1 rotten apple ruining the bunch, well, imagine 10% of the apples in the bunch are rotten, would you still want that particular bunch? That we know of, 10% of the people featured in “The Secret” are rotten apples.

Seriously folks, if you want to read a good book that could really help your life that’s based on something that requires you to have faith, go find yourself a good bible based church and start attending.
