I’ve pondered this question a bit recently. Some of the pondering is because both of my jobs have something to do with website publishing and with driving people to websites to look at ads and so on.
Have you ever stopped to ponder that question? Why do you go to websites? What makes you go back to a site day after day?
I used to listen to the “Entrepreneur on Fire”podcast. The same reason that people listen to podcasts is the same reason that people visit websites.
The reason that people go and visit websites is for the stories.
No one cares how much money Dumas makes off his podcast, without knowing his story first. People don’t care for things that they cannot relate to, so if you can tell a story that makes people relate to you, bam, you’ve got a reader.
So, if you want people to come to your website and to return, then you better put a story that people can relate to in there somewhere.
