When you’re trying to get your book published, you have several options. One of the options is to do it yourself, the other option is to try to get a major publisher to publish the book for you.
The best option, is to do it yourself.

With the advances in digital presses, books that you self publish now look and feel much like the books that are published by the major publishing houses. You can get someone to create the cover art for you, then have a self-publishing house like Lulu publish the books for you on demand.
The beauty of publishing on demand is that you’re not stuck with a garage full of books that you can’t sell and you’re not out any money for publishing all those books.
If you try to get published by a major publishing house, it’ll take too long. The way that major houses work, they have to schedule the books out 12-18 months if not more in advance of their release dates. that means that for 18 months you’ll have nothing to do.
Once the book is published, you’re still expected to promote and market the book. That’s if they’ll even take your book in the first place.
In case you’re wondering if a self published book can make it big, “Rich Dad Poor Dad” was self published when it was first released. When Robert Kiyosaki took his book to publishers they all rejected him. they said he had no audience, no followers and no “platform” as the publishers call it.
It wasn’t until Robert Kiyosaki marketed his book and established his platform that major publishers became interested in him.
So, publish the book yourself first.
