Yikes, you gotta check out the rest of the pictures on the BBC. The venue is supposed to open tomorrow for athletes, but it doesn’t look like it will be ready in time.
Apparently, only 18 of the 34 buildings are ready for habitation, and of the 18 buildings, most of them are dirty and have construction debris all over them. Of course, these pictures could just be pictures of some units that still need to be worked on, but it doesn’t look good.
The head of the Indian committee in charge of staging the Commonwealth games is on record saying that their athlete’s village would be “better than the ones in Beijing.” I don’t think they’re going to hit that mark.
