How To Use Gmail To Send Email From A Different Email Address

In order to use gmail to send email from a different email address, you need to add that other email address to your gmail profile.

Here are the steps, if you’re using the new gmail format:

1. Click on the settings wheel:

2. Select “Mail settings” from the menu:

3. Select “Accounts and Import” from the menu:

4. Click on “Add another email address you own” and make sure that “Reply from the same address the message was sent to” is checked off:

If you want to change information after you add your new email account, click on the “edit info” link after you add the account.

This is also the same place where you would add the settings if you want to use gmail to import mail from a POP3 account.

5. After you click on “Add another address you own” you’ll get a pop up window where you will actually add the address:

Click “Next Step”

6. On the next screen, I suggest leaving the default “Send through Gmail” setting. Otherwise, you’ll need to get your SMTP server info from your admin.

Click “Next Step”

7. Click on “Send Verification”

8. Check your other email, and then copy and paste your verification code in the field there, click “Verify” and voila! you’re set.

That’s it playa.
